He has been Managing Director at J. P. Morgan Chase and Senior Economist at the World Bank. He also held the position of General Director of Investment Banking at Banorte-Ixe, one of the largest banks in Mexico in terms of assets. Between 2016 and 2017, he served as Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru.

Roberto is Managing Director of Foros Advisors, a strategic financial and M&A advisory boutique. Roberto has led a distinguished career as a board member and advisor to some of the world's leading corporations, including 10 years as Vice Chairman of the Board and member of the Executive Committee of JP Morgan where he spent 30 years leading the M&A, capital markets and private equity businesses. Roberto currently serves on the Boards of RFHL and Western Union. He served as Chairman of the Chatham House Foundation and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Roberto holds an M.B.A. (Baker Scholar) from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in history from Yale University.
